Vendors: Store owners receive order details to fulfill your purchase

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

12. Governing Law

This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of Alberta, Canada.

13. Supplier Accounts

If you apply for or hold a supplier account, we collect your business name, contact name, email address, telephone number, business address, tax registration number (such as GST), payout details, and the product catalog and prices you add.

Use: to review your application, operate your account, show your catalog to stores you work with, issue invoices and orders, and keep the platform secure.
Visibility: your catalog is visible to stores on the platform. Your contact and tax details are used for orders and invoices with the stores you work with, and are otherwise available only to authorised BuyNearby staff.
Terms acceptance: when you accept our supplier terms we record the version, date, time, your account, and the IP address you accepted from, as proof of your acceptance.
Sign-in and signup security: we record the IP address of sign-in and signup attempts for up to 24 hours to limit abuse.
Connected systems: where you choose to connect a business system you already use, the supplier terms explain what we read and keep. Connected systems are not available to all suppliers yet.

14. Messenger and Instagram Messages

If you send a message to the BuyNearby Facebook Page or Instagram account, we receive your message text and your Meta-assigned sender ID (not your phone number or email). We do not receive your Facebook or Instagram password or your friends list.

Use: to answer your question about stores, stock, prices, or orders, and to keep a record of the conversation so our support team and the store can follow up. Replies may be written by an automated assistant.
Only when you message first: we reply inside the messaging window Meta allows and do not send promotional messages to people who have not contacted us. Send STOP at any time and we will not message you further.
Sharing: messages are handled by BuyNearby and, if your question concerns a store, shared with that store. They are processed through Meta's messaging platform and our AI provider to generate replies. We do not sell them.
Order details: we do not show order information in Messenger or Instagram until you have verified your phone number with us.

Deleting your data: email privacy@buynearby.store from any address, or message us "delete my data" on Messenger or Instagram, and we will delete the messages and sender ID we hold for you, except records we must keep by law, within 30 days.
