> A for-profit company built on social enterprise values — here to help small stores, takeouts, and suppliers. We connect a segregated, unsupported group of local businesses onto one platform so together they're as strong as the big box chains. Starting in Calgary with same-day delivery, an AI Cofounder for every owner, and a full Retail OS — built city by city.

## Our Story & Vision
- **Why we exist**: Independent stores, takeout restaurants, and suppliers each fight their own battle alone — small shops can't match big-box logistics, suppliers stay isolated from the retailers who'd buy from them, and takeouts juggle five disconnected delivery apps with no real ownership of their customers. Segregated, none of them can match the scale of a big-box chain. United on one platform, they can.

Payment is a pre-authorization link (card held, charged once the store confirms).

Price/stock is resolved server-side from the live catalog (never trust a caller-supplied price); uses the same tax/delivery-fee/coupon engine as human checkout. Creates a real order with order_items immediately, same pre-authorization payment link as place_order.

Callable equivalent: `book_courier` tool / `POST /api/v1/courier.php` (action `quote`, `book`, `status`, or `cancel`) — one-off, point-to-point local courier/parcel delivery for anyone, no BuyNearby account required. `action:"book"` creates a real, driver-dispatch-eligible booking immediately and returns a `booking_ref` (pass `idempotency_key` to make a retry safe). `action:"status"` and `action:"cancel"` look up an existing booking by `booking_ref` + the matching `customer_phone`; cancellation is self-service only while the booking is still `pending` or `assigned`.

- Shop & Deliver: personal-shopper delivery runs — a BuyNearby driver shops in-store from a list and delivers the order same-day. Callable via `shop_and_deliver` tool / `POST /api/v1/shop-and-deliver.php` — creates a real order immediately (pre-authorized estimate; customer is charged the driver's actual receipt total after shopping). Works for any physical store by name, not just BuyNearby POS partners (non-partner stores get a quick phone verification before dispatch).
